Hotel Indigo Williamsburg Brooklyn is an upscale boutique hotel nestled in the less touristy local heart of Williamsburg. You are less than a block from two subway lines that can deliver you into Manhattan in 20 minutes and a short walk from some of the best local Williamsburg restaurants and vintage stores. Enjoy IHG rewards for this InterContinental Hotels Group hotel. The modern design of the multi-level building including bi-level loft suites paired with the largest flexible event space in the neighborhood make it great for special celebrations. The amenities include a pool and open-air sun deck, fitness center and on-site parking. The lobby is a massive space that you actually want to hang out in to do work or meet up with friends before exploring the neighborhood. This hotel stay was provided for free to media, but as always all opinions are my own.

Geography:
Getting there: Located one short block to the G and L subway station called Metropolitan Avenue and Lorimer Street respectively, you can easily take the L train for about 20 minuets into Manhattan anywhere along 14th street.
Location: Situated perfectly between the touristy side of Williamsburg (Bedford on the L train) and the local side of Williamsburg you are always a short walk to top attractions and local food joints that only locals know about. Higher floors have a view of the Manhattan skyline including the One World Trade Center.
Check in: Checking in was quick and easy at a counter that is tucked inside the entrance leaving the rest of the lobby area open to feel less like a stuffy hotel lobby. Everyone was friendly and immediately offered to help with my bags before I even got out of my car.
Room Details:
The Room: The rooms are spacious for NYC unlike many of Manhattan’s more claustrophobic hotel rooms. Control the air conditioner with in-room climate control. Relax on the comfortable foam mattress after pulling the blackout drapes. The color scheme includes touches of soft pastels that feel welcoming like a light blush which isn’t too feminine but adds the right amount of warmth to rooms. Instead of a stock photograph the art in 9 frames feels more personable and homey.
Bathroom: The white marble bathrooms are complete with a waterfall shower, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and free toiletries.
Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi was quick and easy.
Extras:
Coffee/tea: There is a Keurig machine in every room with two cups and two glasses.
Power Plugs: There were ample plugs, and more USB ports than I’ve seen in any hotel recently with 6 USB ports near the bed alone.
Pool: The outdoor seasonal pool and open-air sundeck is a lesser known Williamsburg retreat to hang out when it’s warm.
Dining: A dual-level restaurant and bar will open soon called Kitsch. In the meantime you can enjoy some of my favorite Williamsburg restaurants.
Fitness: There is an on-site fitness center.
The Verdict:
I highly recommend staying on this cool local side of Williamsburg for a more relaxed and quiet stay a quick subway ride into Manhattan.
