If seeing the famous Bamboo Forest and Monkey Park are at the top of your Kyoto bucket list, there is no better luxury accommodation than the Suiran, Kyoto, a Luxury Collection Hotel, which is only a 10 minute walk away. The traditional Japanese style gardens and guestrooms are nestled under Japanese maple trees that turn…
Half Moon is a one-of-a-kind fifty years old luxury property with 400 acres and 2 mile beachfront property. It is an independently-managed five-star resort with an award-winning spa, 18-hole golf course and even an equestrian centre with “turf and surf” excursions available where you can go horseback riding on the beach turf and even swim with horses! There is no shortage of dining options including Sugar Mill, which was awarded as Jamaica’s best restaurants. The resort is currently undergoing the second phase of a $75 million expansion project which will provide 57 new rooms by October 2018.
Bluefields Bay Villas is the perfect “country retreat on the sea” with every luxury of a large resort but the privacy of your own secluded villa on the south coast of Jamaica. Each of the six waterfront villas has a private pool, gourmet chef and personal butler. The service was impeccable with a butler available 24-hours and even available for daily excursions. When we went to the YS Falls someone accompanied us to carry a custom picnic basket filled with fresh local snacks. The beachfront property extends along the south coast with beautifully landscaped vistas and the perfect view of sunset.
The One & Only Ocean Club is laid-back luxury; it has all of the frills without any of the pretension. Ocean-front rooms, dedicated butlers for my every need and daily complimentary champagne and macaron delivery. Luxury is easy to achieve, but magic is not. (Take it from a magician’s assistant.)
The 10 most Instagrammed hotels are all based in top party destinations with five out of the top ten located in Las Vegas! They are over the top and set records like the largest single hotel in the U.S. (MGM Grand) or the largest casino in the world (not in Las Vegas).
Jade Mountain is a one-of-a-kind escape in St. Lucia with one of the Island’s best views of both Pitons over the Caribbean Sea. There is no hallway of identical hotel room doors in a line, but instead “rooms” are called “sanctuaries” and each one has a private bridge entrance and your very own infinity pool. The open concept and natural soundtrack of birds allows you to feel fully immersed in your own private luxurious treehouse above it all. I stayed there two nights courtesy of Jade Mountain in exchange for honest article and video content.
Anse Chastanet provides accessible luxury while allowing guests to be surrounded by nature with views of both the Pitons and the sunset over the beach. The open wall concept lets you enjoy the unobstructed view and sounds of birds that sometimes fly into your room for a quick visit. The Caribbean inspired art from local and international artists gives each room a customized look.
